Family Discipleship 102: Making Others Matter in Jesus' Name // Our Story of The Great Dog Rescue

Tosha Williams for FDM Season 3 Episode 18

What does rescuing two freezing dogs from drowning have to do with discipleship? Well, turns out, for my youngest daughter and I - alot! We were on our way to school when suddenly we spotted a couple of somethings downstream from our bridge. Upon stopping for closer inspection, we realized it was two dogs stuck in the freezing creek waters, clinging for dear life to a ledge of ice.

You’ve got to hear our story, which I think is pretty amazing. But, it turns out to be about way more than a great rescue. When I asked God what He was trying to show me through our series of events, He spoke into my life in a profound and impactful way.  I think it might just impact you, so - listen in, then I invite you to meditate on this week's discipleship conversation to consider the implications God has for your life.

Welcome to "Family Discipleship 102" - - - where it’s not just about us and ours; it’s also about making others matter in Jesus’ Name.  The previous conversation in this series "Family Discipleship 101" focusses on Deuteronomy 6:4-7, and now, in this conversation we consider Acts 1:8, where Jesus told His followers to go beyond their immediate relationships and reach out to others to share the Gospel and make disciples.

May God use all this to encourage and equip you to disciple those He sends your way!

Be encouraged!
Tosha
